BACKFLOW TESTING

Ian Warrington Plumbing provides a fully qualified backflow testing service to households and businesses in the Nelson Bay region. Backflow testing is an essential service to reduce the risk of contaminants entering the water supply, which could cause health problems. Only licensed plumbers with backflow prevention accreditation, including Ian Warrington Plumbing, can install, commission and test these devices. Backflow can be caused by backpressure from a break in a water main or a property using water on site at a higher pressure than the supply pressure. This can also occur during a fire when water is pumped from the mains at a pressure greater than the normal mains pressure. Ian Warrington Plumbing can fit as well as test backflow devices.

THERMOSTATIC MIXING VALVES (TMV)

Ian Warrington Plumbing specialises in installing and maintaining thermostatic mixing valves (TMV). These devices are commonly used in hospitals and nursing homes and can prevent accidental scalding from hot water. In households they can regulate the maximum temperature for hot water delivered to individual hot-water outlets or to the entire house reducing the risk of scalding for children, elderly and disabled. A professionally installed TMV device mixes hot and cold water and can limit the temperature of hot water delivered, helping reduce the risk of thermal shock. Mixing valves can provide accurate control of the water temperatures at a tap or shower outlet regardless of the supply temperature or water pressure variations.
